Veterans Day, by Ryan Parr

veterans day - Copy.gif

A couple couple couple days
After veterans day and the fourth of July,
There’re many tiny flags in trash bags,
Do you ever wonder why?

Does it have to do with the price?
How much loss can weigh.
A Backhanded Thanks that we’ve devised
Because it has to be this way.

A couple couple days from now,
When they clean the litter from parades
Will we feel as we do now?
Apologetic human race.

A couple days off sure feels nice,
Don’t like to think what it is for,
Maybe I’ll go somewhere nice
After the next brand new world war

Will we ever pay the price?
Loss can weigh a great, great deal.
Bartered for Backhanded Thanks, where I decide
Exactly when and where I’ll feel.
Are we paying for it now?
Does the weight come with a loss?
Backhanded thanks, a new world weight

Can you bare your own cross?

Can you bear your own cross?

Can you bear your own cross?
